Checklist for Installing Digital Certificates

Prior to installing a digital certificate, there are several things that you need to confirm in order for the process to run smoothly. They are:

Use Correct Log-ins

Be sure the intended representative of the certificate is logged in during the subscription process. This is the Windows User Name/Password that he/she uses to log in with on this machine.

Use a Supported Operating System

Confirm that Microsoft Windows Windows 8 or greater is installed. To identify the Operating System version installed on your PC, click on the System icon from the Windows Control Panel. The General tab will show the operating system and its version.

Use a Supported Web Browser

Use a current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge, Firefox, or Google Chrome.  Browsers other than Internet Explorer and Firefox require use of the Vertifi App, freely available from the Microsoft App Store.

Have Your Local Security Administrator (LSA) Configure Authorizations and Create a Subscriber PIN

In order to install a personal certificate, your Local Security Administrator must configure your representative's identity and authorizations. Additionally, installation of a digital certificate is enabled via a 12-digit alphanumeric Subscriber PIN provided to you by your LSA.

Now you're ready. Open a browser window and navigate to Vertifi's Home page at www.vertifi.com. Install the CA Certificate and perform the personal Certificate Installation process. From the Vertifi home page, select Login from the main menu, then choose Setup to begin the installation process.

Use Passwords to Secure Digital Certificates

All users have the option to secure a digital certificate with a password regardless of the user's authorization(s). Users will be prompted to enter this password when invoking the digital certificate for accessing the EasCorp and Vertifi sites.
