About Digital Certificates

In order to access the secure pages of web portals protected with Vertifi-issued certificates (e.g., Vertifi's secure customer portal (VCP), EasCorp's Ease-Link), a representative must obtain a Digital Certificate from Vertifi. A Digital Certificate is installed within a representative's Windows Login profile on one or more computers. The certificate public key is also stored in Vertifi's authorization database where it allows for mapping of a representative's identity (the digital certificate) to their authorizations. The representative is defined in the database by name, as well as the specific modules that the representative is entitled to access. There are two types of certificates that must be installed on the representative's PC. They are:

 

 

 

A Certificate Authority is governed by a Certificate Practice Statement. The Vertifi Certification Practice Statement (“CPS”) describes the policies and practices of the Vertifi CA, and sets forth the obligations of an external user of a Vertifi CA certificate. An external user ("Participant") is a customer or other authorized entity. A subscriber ("Subscriber") is a named individual employee or agent of a Participant who is issued a certificate to access a Vertifi business application.
